Position Title: Yard Supervisor
Basic Function: Supervises daily flow of product and manages Yard Laborers.
Minimum Knowledge/Education Requirements: High School Diploma preferred.
Authority level: Intermediate.
Reports to: Assistant Operations Manager.

General Job Responsibilities: Supervise and direct Yard Laborers (including Warehouse workers and Skid Steer Operators). Manage customer flow of traffic through the store, assist customers with loading/unloading product & oversee the general maintenance of the grounds. Also responsible for building and maintaining good rapport with retail customers and contractors, alike. After proper training, developing adequate job skills, and building customer relations, many decisions will be made independently.

Itemized Responsibilities & Tasks:

1. Supervise and direct Yard Laborers in daily tasks and functions.
   1. Ensure all orders to be delivered (or picked up) are properly filled and processed on time and placed in the hold-bin.

2. Assist Customers with Questions.
   1. Approach customers with a friendly demeanor.
   2. Explain basic features, benefits & uses of different products.
   3. Help customers pick out/pick through natural stone.
   4. Accurately check/mark customer receipts.

3. Load & Unload Customers.
   1. Manually load & unload various types of vehicles.
   2. Operate forklift when necessary (only after proper certification).
   3. Weigh carts with stone.
   4. Accurately record weights of stone.
   5. Comply with posted loading/unloading company policies & procedures.

4. Maintain Appearance & General Safety of the Yard.
   1. Complete daily checklists.
   2. Ensure all shrink-wrap is removed entirely from opened pallets.
   3. Ensure all fallen product (stone & bags) is restacked and presentable.
   4. Ensure all walking & drivable surfaces are swept and safe.
   5. Continually consolidate concrete products, bags & natural stone.
   6. Ensure all tasks/issues pertaining to the upkeep and management of the grounds and store are addressed.
   7. Inform Assistant Operations Manager of any safety or product presentation issues/concerns.

5. Other/Miscellaneous.
   1. Complete all tasks assigned by the Assistant Operations Manager.
   2. Perform other various situation-based functions pertaining to daily customer and manager needs.
   3. Contact Yard Manager on duty with any other yard related questions.

1. At least 18 years of age (in order to operate machinery).
2. Ability to lift 80 lbs. repetitively over the course of 8 hours.

Performance Evaluations:

Evaluations will be given after 30 days, 90 days, and 6 months. After a year of employment at Mr. Mulch, evaluations will be done every 6 months. Evaluations will be conducted by the Assistant Operations Manager.
