Position Title: Yard Laborer
Basic Function: Assists customers in loading product & maintain yard.
Minimum Knowledge/Education Requirements: None required.
Authority level: Low
Reports to: Yard Manager.

General Job Responsibilities: Load customer vehicles with product, assist customers in moving stone & other products, weigh stone, aid the Yard Manager in filling orders, help maintain the general appearance of premises, and complete task checklists. Also responsible for completing other tasks as assigned by the overseeing manager (e.g., organizing, consolidating, general housekeeping, & cleaning). Individual is also responsible for building and maintaining rapport with customers.

Itemized Responsibilities & Tasks:

1. Load & Unload Customers.
   1. Manually load & unload various vehicles.
   2. Operate forklift when necessary (only after proper certification).
   3. Weigh carts with stone.
   4. Accurately record weights of stone.
   5. Assist Yard Manager with orders to be filled and processed.
   6. Comply with posted loading/unloading company policies & procedures.

2. Assist Customers with Questions.
   1. Approach customers with friendly demeanor.
   2. Explain basic features, benefits & uses of different products.
   3. Help customers pick out/pick through natural stone.
   4. Accurately check/mark customer receipts.

3. Maintain Appearance & General Safety of the Yard.
   1. Complete daily checklists.
   2. Remove shrink-wrap entirely from opened pallets.
   3. Restack fallen product (stone & bags).
   4. Sweep all walking & drivable surfaces.
   5. Stack & shrink-wrap loose stone for sale.
   6. Water sod.
   7. Continually consolidate concrete products, bags & natural stone.
   8. Inform Yard Manager of any safety or product presentation issues/concerns.

4. Other/Miscellaneous.
   1. Complete all assigned tasks by Yard Manager.
   2. Perform other various situation-based functions pertaining to daily customer and manager needs.
   3. Contact Yard Manager on duty with any other yard related questions.

1. At least 16 years of age, 18 to operate machinery.
2. Possess a personable & pleasant demeanor.
3. Reliable and punctual, aware of one's schedule/consistently on time.
4. Ability to handle fast-paced work environment.
5. Ability to learn new product information quickly.

Performance Evaluations:

Evaluations will be given after 30 days, 90 days, and 6 months. After a year of employment at Mr. Mulch, evaluations will be done every 6 months. Evaluations will be conducted by the Assistant Operations Manager.
